I have only shown dogs for 5 years after buying Smokey from Liz Hiscock (Brelade) I found a hobby that I really love and I have made many very good friends in and out of the breed.
All my dogs have pet names showing my love of Motown music! We have ‘Smokey Robinson’ then ‘Otis Reading’ followed by ‘Wilson Pickett’ and last but not least ‘Edwin Starr’.
I thought long and hard about a Kennel Name and decided on ‘Gwbert’ as it is the name of the Welsh village where at the age of 11 I bought my first puppy. She was a Pembroke Corgi called Mitzi who became our family dog and lived to the ripe old age of 18.
After I married Mike we owned a Golden Retriever called Fred, then a Springer Spaniel, Lucky followed by Tango another Springer. When Tango passed away 7 years ago I decided to try another breed Cocker Spaniels and because of this choice have entered the colourful world of dog showing.
