06/02/10 BEST IN SHOW for Eddie at Tiverton Limit show, how fantastic I’m over the moon! Smokey also won her class, Sophie hers and Pheobie won BEST PUPPY IN SHOW. A wonderful day for Cocker Spaniels. Thank you to our judge Dr Helen Almay
16/01/10 A long but very successful day at Yeovil Open Show. Sophie won her class and Edwin his and then he went on to win Best of Breed. In the group he won Gundog Group 4 so I was very happy with him. Also Franaille Oceans (Pheobie) owned by Fran Bowman won Best Puppy and then Puppy Group 2. Well done little Pheobs! she really showed her socks off in the group. Thank you to judges Miss D Spavin and Mrs A Corbett
10/01/10 We should have gone to The Welsh Kennel Club Open Show today - but due to ‘The Big Freeze’ it was cancelled, as were most of the dogs shows scheduled for this weekend. Never mind I gave Otis a good bath and trim (not sure he appreciated it!)
03/01/10 A good start to 2010 with Eddie winning Best of Breed at Bridgend and District Open Show. Thank you to our judge Ms Fiona Watson.
06/12/09 A great weekend! On Saturday at Exonian Open Show dear Smokey won Best of Breed. On Sunday after an interesting drive to Weymouth through some very wet countryside to Dorset County CS Open Show, Eddie won Best of Breed and Gundog Group 4. Sophie also did very well with a nice 1st.
29/08/09 Newton Abbot Open Show today and I had the honour of showing Sophie. You can imagine how pleased I was when she was placed first in her class. Well done Sophie! Smokey also won her class and Eddie went on to win RBOB and BOS.
02/08/09 Totnes and District Open Show and a great morning at my local show. Not only did all my three cockers get placed first in their classes, but then Otis went on to be placed Best of Breed. He now has a new toy and is lording it over the others.
26/04/09 A very enjoyable day out at WELKS with Gary and Sophie (Rothmia Queen Sophia at Meloneras). Sophie wasn’t placed in her HUGE puppy class but she was very well behaved and looked beautiful. Edwin won his class so I was a very happy bunny! Lovely weather and no hold-ups on the roads.
11/04/09 Otis’s Birthday , he is now four going on forty! Happy Birthday.
23/03/09 Smokey is five today! Happy Birthday my girl, keep those naughty boys under control as usual!
30/11/08 A trip to Wales today for Kim and I and it certainly was worth it. Kim won BPIB with dear little Amber and my lovely boys also did very well. Congratulations to Kim, she has a great future ahead with her super orange roan girl.
22/11/08 A super day out at Devon & Cornwall Cocker Spaniel Championship Show. Edwin was placed first in his class and then Wilson was placed 2nd a very large Post Graduate class and went on to placed VHC in Limit and 4th in Open, so missing his Stud Book number by one place! The judge was Mrs Pam Walker. We met lots of friends, caught up on news and had a very enjoyable day.
07/11/08 Today we received Edwin’s Show Certificate of Merit from The Kennel Club. What a proud moment for me, who would have believed that the shy boy I tried to show nearly 18 months ago would have turned into such a little star. In fact Edwin Starr was the right name for him!
01/11/08 Edwin is having a short holiday from showing. He has had such a fantastic year and worked so hard at champ and open shows that he is chilling for a while. He will be back at Devon & Cornwall Cocker Championship show on the 22nd November. Went to Torquay Open show and both Smokey and Wilson won their classes but more importantly so did Amber at her first show. Well done Kim and Amber!
11/10/08 Edwin put the icing on the cake today by winning Reserve Best in Show at Liskeard! What a wonderful day for Gwbert. He was a little star and really couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about - bless him. Dear Smokey also won her class. My thanks to both judges Mrs P Gowland and Mr K Savage for thinking so highly of my Edwin.
05/10/08 Another hat-trick today with all three dogs being placed first. Edwin then went on to win BOB and Gundog Group 3. He now has enough points for his ShCM. Well done my handsome black boy.
21/09/08 Went to West Country Dog Club today. Did OK, all my dogs were placed very well. On our way home I called in Marden Horse and Companion Dog Show at Chudleigh to meet Kim, Kim’s Mum, Zara and Amber. I entered Wilson and he won Best in Show!! To make things even more perfect Wilson’s favourite girl Zara won Best Puppy in Show! What a lovely cocker day out!
14/09/08 Camborne Redruth Open Show today and we all had a lovely day out. Edwin won BOB and Wilson RBOB. This must be a lucky show for us as one of my dogs has won here for the last 3 years! Well done to Amanda who won BOB with the very lovely Molly and also to Nancey with the beautiful Spanish girl Scarlet who won BOB and then Group 3.
13/09/08 Edwin is 2 today. Happy Birthday to my special boy, who has achieved so much for Gwbert.
17/08/08 Welsh Kennel Club today. We didn’t go but I would like to congratulate Robin and Nancey Walker on getting a 2nd RCC with Isadora Amondi (Imp), their very beautiful American cocker Scarlet.
13/08/08 A lovely week with Edwin being placed first in his class at Bournemouth Camp Show. This must be my lucky show as Wilson was placed first last year. I am also puppy sitting a very beautiful orange roan for my friends Kim and Andy whilst they are on holiday. Her name is Amber and she is a real character.
20/07/08 Nancey, Otis and I all travelled to Kingston Maurward College in Dorset today so that Nancey of ‘Ladies and Tramps’ in Plymouth could sit her City and Guilds Advanced Grooming practical examination . I am very pleased to announce that Nancey passed with flying colours and Otis is looking very, very handsome! CONGRATULATIONS NANCEY!
13/07/08 A most FANTASTIC day at Cornish National open show! All my show team were placed 1st and then Edwin won BOB and Wilson won RBOB. To make my day even more perfect Edwin won Group 1. I would like to thank Mr J Watt for thinking so highly of my dogs. But the icing on the cake was Liz, Amanda and myself and 3 beautiful cockers wining The Royal Canin Inter Club Team Stakes against 20 other teams. This is a day I will long remember!!

09/06/08 Kim accompanied me to Three Counties Champ Show and we had a lovely day out. It was topped by Edwin gaining a second in Yearling dog with an entry of 13 dogs under Jackie Marris-Bray. So as you can imagine I am so very proud of him.
24/05/08 Bath Champ Show and we had a very good day out. Both my boys were placed and I would like to thank Liz for making such a good job of showing Wilson. We sat and had a natter with some good friends and indulged in lots of doggy retail therapy! Interesting journey home with enough dog food to sink a small battleship, luckily my dear Clio coped with it all!
26/04/08 WELKS today and a great day out for Liz, Amanda and myself. We somehow managed to get 3 adults, 4 cockers and a springer, plus all the paraphernalia into Liz’s car and get to Malvern. Edwin was placed reserve in yearling dog, so I was very pleased. Amanda got VHC in post graduate bitch with her beautiful springer Molly and Liz just behaved disgracefully all day! Congratulations are due to our friend Vanda Sheppard who qualified her American cocker puppy Shadow for Crufts at his first show.
11/04/08 Today Otis is 3 and he celebrated his birthday the way he loves - chilling on the sofa! Happy Birthday Big Boy!
